Pizza Prospects

It turns out February 9th is National Pizza Day!!!  Who knew?  It seems like everybody loves pizza; even the gluten-free and lactose-intolerant find a way to enjoy a great pizza pie.

Our office is no exception!  With a quick poll of everybody present in the office, there’s clearly a couple of favorite toppings that make a pizza complete:  veggie, pepperoni, tomatoes, sausage, pineapple, jalapeño and artichoke.  Then there’s the all out brawl over crust:  should it be thin, thick, hand tossed or deep dished??  So complex!

Is there ever a time NOT to have pizza?  Well…it can be a tough encounter when one has in place a provisional restoration, that is, temporary crown.  A temporary crown is set on the tooth with, you guessed it, temporary cement and there are times that temporary cement lives up to it’s name.  A nice cheesy pizza with a typical bread crust is perfect to lift that temp right off the tooth!  Never fear, temporaries can be refit to the tooth as long as they are not swallowed.  Plus, eating the slice with a knife and fork (I know, I know, not cool) will afford more control with subsequent chewing.  Don’t ever feel you need to abstain from one of the four food groups; just keep Dr Hill and Dr Schneidmiller’s phone number (619-460-8211) handy for any of your recementation needs!!

Now it’s just a matter of choosing which topping YOU want today!
